As the breeding season gets underway, the annual war of words over one of Britain's most controversial birds, the Hen Harrier Circus cyaneus, has been re-ignited. The newly released results of the 2010 Hen Harrier survey (funded by RSPB, Scottish Natural Heritage, Natural England and the Countryside Council for Wales) have revealed a 20% decline in the bird's UK population in the last six years.
